The process of creating and maintaining employee personnel files can be a painstaking and time-consuming endeavor. Accurate and up-to-date personnel files are essential to minimizing employer liability. Admin Strategies will establish and maintain personnel files for employees on staff prior to contracting with Admin Strategies as personnel issues arise. In addition, files will be created for all future new hire employees.
Control Liability Exposure
HR managers, managers in general, and business owners often prefer that employees not get a chance to see their personnel files, at least in part because they know that the records -- or lack of documentation -- can be damning. There is also the problem of notes that have been thrown into files, which would make any corporate attorney's hair stand on end. In order to ensure that personnel files are being maintained properly Admin Strategies utilizes strict guidelines in keeping employees' personnel files accurate and up-to-date. All documents are thoroughly screened before filing to identify any questionable remarks that may pose liability issues for our clients.
Assure Confidentiality
We consider confidentiality a top priority. Employees have a right to expect that their private information will not be disclosed except when it is warranted. Employee personnel files shall not be made available to any person or organization other than the Employer without express written authorization from the employer unless pursuant to court order or subpoena. All employee personnel files are the sole property of the employer and will be made available upon request.
